I am looking forward to, and am also thankful for, the prospect of four days of knitting goodness!
Yesterday I had off as well, I took a personal day as Montey and I both had eye appointments. After that we went to Agway for a heater for the llama’s water tank and then went on to The Knit Shoppe in Canonsburg where he picked out some dark brown Lopi and I got black and gold Galway. I also got to see Montey’s face as he looked at the price tag on 218 yards of laceweight Quivet…
After we got home for a bit I headed back out to Knit Wits in Greensburg on my own with the mission to get there before they closed at 4 to get Montey his own pair of 24″ 10.5s and me some more Bryspun circulars… Montey also put in a request for llama yarn in brown… he also mentioned camel but I told him I didn’t think they had camel there… I was wrong. Knit Wits does have some 100% Baby Camel and Oh. My. It is soft! I didn’t get him any of that though… I did pick up some Cascade llama/wool mix in dark brown and then a skein of Cascade 220 in a brown/black mix for him though. And then some more Cascade 220 in black and gold… for me to make the Christmas Steeler Scarf if I don’t like the length I get with the Galway. Knit Wits also has some absolutely gorgeous pure alpaca, it is soooo soft and just kept trying to leap onto my pile on the counter. I told myself “all the yarn in the world is not going to disappear tomorrow, you don’t have to get it all today” which worked, barely, but at least long enough for me to get out of the store!
I finished my Christmas socks and am on to the Christmas Scarf out of my handspun… I am using the Branching Out pattern from Knitty… The second Christmas Scarf is going to be black and gold and I think I’m going to use the random stripe generator that Jillz has mentioned using before with great success… so I’m off to google it.
Speaking of Jill, she has a wonderful post giving thanks today that you should check out… it reminds me to stop and take stock of all the things that are good and happy in my life and there are many.
Well, I’m ending this post, off to knit for a bit and drink coffee, wonderful, strong, coffee that my great Pittsburgh Secret Pal sent me. She’s tuned right into my frequency! I got a package from her last weekend containing an assortment of different coffees and a mug that says, “so much yarn, so little time”. So true.
