Last weekend was Maryland Sheep & Wool, right? I bought roving and wool, right? I already had a good many projects worth of yarn in my stash, right?
So… where was I today?
Well… I went to Knit-Wits in Greensburg for size 13 DPNs… what do you think the chances are that I can go in with all that beautiful soft yarn and leave with just a set of needles? No, I left with multiple sets of needles and some yarn to go with it… I left with size 13s, 2 sets of 5s and a set of 2s… Oh, and 4 skeins of 50% llama / 50% wool to make Montey house socks (that’s what the 5s are for… he wants nice house socks).
Guess who came in while I was there? Donna! It was so good to see her! She missed the last Sit & Knit before I went on vacation and then I was gone so it’s been weeks since I’ve seen her. She’s on her own this weekend with the house to herself… that’s an invitation to knit, knit, and knit some more… curled up on the couch in PJs for sure! She got to meet Montey who was out in the truck (probably desperately wishing that he’d brought the laptop on our little Saturday roadtrip as a 10 minute run into the yarn store turned into an hour and a half…)
Do you think that was enough yarn and related shopping for the day? Why no, not exactly… we left there and ran over to the new JoAnn’s in Greensburg… I have a buyer who wants a soft fuzzy poncho in pink and so I picked up multiple skeins of Paton’s Divine to use for it. I use a JoAnn’s credit card that pays back gift cards for a percentage of charges and so used one of the gift cards to pay for the yarn and a couple magazines.
I started the poncho (about 6 rounds done). It’s going to be my Sit & Knit project this week as it’s just knit and easy to do while chit-chatting. I’ve learned my lesson about knitting that requires a good deal of thinking when I worked on my lacey Koigu shawl. (That shawl is on a temporary hiatus as I have socks on the needles, husband socks in planning and a poncho to be completed.)
Well, back to the living room for a bit more knitting before bed.
