I have knitting to update!
First, my current socks are being done in yarn I bought from Boogie Knits (aka Spunky Eclectic). After the last pair I finished I swore I was going to make the next ones with longer cuffs so here they are… I’ve only just now headed down the heel flap after 84 rows…

But one main project on the needles is not quite enough… (we don’t count the ufos languishing over a year as being on the needles…) so I started a shrug, specifically Lacey from Knitty, in Brooks Farms Four Play which is a wool and silk blend, so it won’t be fuzzy like the original pattern… I have the eight inches of ribbing done and have started in the pattern up the arm!

In other news… I picked up the buttons for this suit (the jacket and skirt)

I made it in a plain brown twill and it turned out quite nice if I do say so! Pictures of the actual suit after buttonholes and a final pressing!
I just checked my blog feeds and you need to see Cheryl’s socks that she just finished in the new Noro Kureyon sock yarn! Yummy! I can’t believe she got the striping to almost match! Cheryl got each of a group of us a skein of the yarn for Christmas and she’s the first to finish a pair. Blogless Betsy is doing anklets, she’s on her second. She said she’s going to just make as many anklets as she can and then mix and match them… I’m going to do a pair toe-up so I can just keep going until the yarn is gone!
Progress on 2008: “The Year of Decluttering and Organization!”? Going well! I have made more then one trip to Half-Price Books… clearing out the bookshelves upstairs… I have many more trips to go but it’s a start… The last time I was more disappointed with the offer then the time before… I actually thought the last trip had more value, not less… but then I realized how they come up with their offers… they have a roulette wheel and they spin it! Irregardless, I’ll keep taking boxes of books to them because the alternative is leaving them sit to collect more dust!
Montey was practically taking bets on when I’d go back to school now that the master’s degree is all done. Those of you who were betting that I wouldn’t even make a full semester hit the nail on the head, sort of… I am going to take a non-credit course in American Sign Language. I used to know it well (it was going to be my career…) and have now forgotten more then I know… My interest in regaining my fluency came after spending a few days subbing in a life skills class where some of the students were non-verbal and used sign to communicate…
Well, that’s all for now. Have a great weekend!
