Go see Crazy Aunt Purl’s post today about her 80s insanity flashbacks

I too spent my formative years reading Sassy and loving the neon! And I wanted to be Molly Ringwald. I still fondly remember one of my favorite outfits… Jelly shoes, a floral skirt, a cropped pastel t-shirt top with a hat with a pastel band to match the shirt and skirt… oh so cool and “Molly Ringwald-ish”

And so, when Laurie said, “I dare you to top me in my 80s insanity”… I have to try.

Here I am in another of my favorite outfits… this is right about fall of 1989… Note my mother being all stylish as well in her tinted glasses and puffy-sleeved shirt.

A close up of the outfit. I was (and can’t you tell I know it) the coolest person at my grandma’s 80th birthday party!

After spending the early mid 80s wanting to be Molly Ringwald… I spent the late late 80s wanting to be Winona Ryder!
(I am a Heather but I wasn’t cool enought to be a Heather…)
