Today I will be sewing up Santa. Santa is a shelf sitter and also a Christmas present for my boss… Yes, it was going to be a black and gold Steeler scarf… well, that was to be the plan before her sister-in-law gave her a black and gold Steeler scarf. If you have the 2005 Knitting Pattern a Day calendar you may recognize Santa from this past Thursday and Friday. At the moment he may be hard to recognize.

After that… I get to start my sweater! I am sooooo excited! I finally picked out a pattern! It is Kathy Zimmerman’s Oriental Jacket pattern from a Classic Elite pattern book. I am doing it in Cascade though. Got the Cascade yesterday from Knit-Wits in Greensburg. Here it is, the color isn’t quite true though… it is a bit less blue and a bit more grey.

After I left there I did make an impromptu trip to Kathy’s Kreations though where I picked up for Montey some Lopi and some other bulky wool that he is now turning into a pair of slippers. Speaking of Montey, here are a few more of his completed projects. A felted vase, a vase yet to be felted, and a skull cap. He’s finishing things faster then I am!

I only had three Christmas projects in the works this year. You’ve seen the completed socks… Here’s the scarf. It ended up at eight feet long! Like my blocking board? A 4′ x 8′ piece of sub-siding. Works well though behind closed doors in the guest bedroom!

Here’s a close up of the scarf pattern, it was done lengthwise.

So that’s where I’m off to now… To sew up Santa and start on my sweater. (already did a swatch in Cascade on the size needles it calls for and everything!)
