1. My favorite yarn to knit with is:

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Yes, I guess I probably am… I find I tend to gravitate more towards wool. But, I’m not a total snob… all yarn has its uses…
2. Do you spin? Crochet? I do spin, not nearly enough for the amount of fiber stash (but then again, I don’t knit enough for my yarn stash so it’s all relative…) I know how to crochet but prefer knitting…
3. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? My end table drawer for circs, a pencil case for DPNs.. straights are in a case in the bottom of a stash box… (don’t use them)… I keep swearing I’m going to sew myself a “circular solution” but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet…
4. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? Intermediate as long as it only involves one color… super beginner when we start talking more then one color at a time…
5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? Yes, Amazon.
6. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.) I like food scents, except usually vanilla based… unless it’s vanilla cookie… Not much for berry or fruity scents though… except orange or lemon or pineapple or grapefruit… Alot of times chocolate scents smell bad… Not much for flowery scents… Oh, and I love shower gels but I can’t use bubble bath or perfumes much (Hi. Sneezy? That’s me.)
7. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? My mouth is full of sweet teeth… I like all sorts of chocolate… and I like those butter-mints, like dinner mint things…
8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? I’ve done all sorts of crafty things but I like knitting the best but always ooooh and aaaah over all sorts of kit type crafty things… I like kitsch too…
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I like all sorts of music… I tend towards strong female vocalists but my collection runs the gamut of tastes…
10. What’s your favorite color? Or–do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can’t stand? I love bright colors… and greys… and autumn colors… and neutrals. I do not like beige or pastels…
11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? Married, no children, two cats, two llamas…
12. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? Yes, except ponchos… I like shawls and wraps but ponchos are a bit much…
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? Wools, for sure… like Cascade, or Wool of the Andes, Paton’s Classic Merino, such like that…
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I don’t like fuzzy yarns, like angora or mohair that sheds… (makes me sneeze)… I never much know what to do with novelty yarns… Cotton makes my wrists hurt.
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s? Cables… Toys… Sock patterns… Lace…
16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? I can’t pick a favorite… it depends on my mood…
17. What are you knitting right now? I’m working on a sweater that I am loving. I have some socks on the needles too. I have two shawls in progress and a purse in the planning. Also little toys in planning… I had so much fun doing a stuffed toy Santa that I want to do more little toys.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Circulars and DPNs
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? Yes. I’ve discovered that I love the Bryspun plastic circs and so have started collecting them as of late.
21. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? Yes to both… Life would be harder (or at least knitting would!!!) without them!
22. How did you learn to knit? My grandma taught me years and years ago… then occasionally I’d do a scarf always refreshing my memory on how to knit from a book. Then about a year and a half ago I started knitting obsessively and used books to learn how to progress beyond a rectangle. Now if I have questions I turn to my friends I’ve met from sit-n-knits and in that group somebody knows how to do whatever it is that I’m questioning.
23. How old is your oldest UFO? In general? probably about 3 years? Anything older I’ve probably gotten rid of one way or another. Knitting specific? About a year.
24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird? Animated, I like the Muppets, the Fraggles, Peanuts, the Smurfs, Care Bears… 80s nostalgia… I love cats and llamas and sheep for real animals…
25. What is your favorite holiday? I’m not big on holidays… My birthday is July 18th which also happens to be National Ice Cream Day… that’s a good one. January 16th is National Nothing Day…Sept 6th is National Coffee Ice Cream Day and Sept 29th is National Coffee Day… All high on my list as well.
26. Is there anything that you collect? I like magnets and pick them up when I travel… used to do coffee mugs but the cupboard is full… Other then craft supplies, I’m not a big collector… well… stuffed cats that look like either Linny or Slim, and llama things or sheep…
27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? Interweave Knits, and Spin-off. Creative Knitting and soon Vogue Knitting….
28. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? Oooo… I love adding books to my collection… I keep looking at Knitorama but it’s one of those “wouldn’t buy for myself because it isn’t at all practical” type books… (I think I mentioned I like kitsch?) . Sensational Knitted Socks is up there on the list… that’s practical and a really good book… All sorts of things strike my eye…
29. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn? I’d like to learn colorwork but after I get better at lace knitting and sweaters…
30. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? Yep, like socks! Bright socks! Multi-colored… I’ve never bought plain colored sock yarn… Feet: Length 9.75″ / Instep Circumference 9.5″ / Ankles 10.5″

I guess I am a bit of a yarn snob, but not totally. If it’s not “squeaky” and “scratchy” acrylics, I like it.
I haven’t personally bought yarn from anywhere but a yarn store in quite a while now but I wouldn’t not buy something I liked just because it was Red Heart or Caron or some such.
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
Spinning: Yes, beginner. Crochet: Yes, advanced intermediate.
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
Penicillin, please don’t send antibiotics. LOL
4. How long have you been knitting?
On and off for 20+ years. Obsessively, 1 year
5. Do you have an Amazon, Knitpicks or other online wish list?
Yes, Amazon and Knitpicks.
Both too long because if I like something I stick it in there.
6. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
I tend to like scents with names that have “spring”, “rain”, “ocean”, “fresh”, or “shower” in them as well as others. Probably easier to name what I don’t like: rose, gardenia, vanilla, and peach. And I love coffee.
I don’t wear perfume or sprays but like to spritz my environment occasionally. I also don’t often burn candles as the cats are too curious and I don’t want them burning their little whiskers…
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
Unfortunately.

hehehe, another one of those “what don’t you like to do” questions… I don’t really enjoy doing counted cross-stitch anymore… but really, I am overly crafty.

I am not really listening to a lot of music currently. I am on an audio book obsession for my commuting lately.

I’m not much of a “pastel” type person and I don’t like beige. I like bright colors, deep colors, autumn colors, etc.

Married, no kids, two cats, two llamas.

To win the lottery. Otherwise, just to enjoy life.

Wools, silks, blends. I usually pick yarns by look/color, then feel it to make sure it’s soft, then look at what it’s made of but that rarely rules a yarn out (except pure cotton, see question 14)
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
Pure cotton hurts to knit with. And I’m not much of a novelty (eyelash, furry, weird bits and bumps) yarn user.

Lace / shawls / scarves

I’m finding I don’t like sweaters and tops at the moment because to knit one to fit me takes too damned long.

A top, a pair of socks, two shawls. Getting ready to cast on another shawl and a scarf.

I don’t need to put anything on my body that makes me look more rounded.

Circulars and DPNs, I never use straights anymore.

Pretty much any. For plastic though I like the ones with concave tips.

Yes.

My grandma taught me when I was little. Then all my refresher courses were out of books.
